SREC – Solar Renewable Energy Credits
SREC’s or Solar Renewable Energy Credits are the credits generated in some states from your installed solar panel system. An SREC is a green certificate representing “green attributes” of one megawatt-hour of electricity generated from solar energy.
Living in a sunny climate can help your solar panel system generate 7 or 8 SRECS per year. In most participating states, once you generate 2 or 3 SRECS you’ll be able to start selling these credits.
