The Southern Region Municipality has launched a new initiative, which is to run the solar-powered irrigation system on Al Quds Street in Isa City.
It is through the intelligent control mechanism of the operation of the irrigation system for crops.
This initiative consists of installing solar panels and automatically connecting them to the irrigation network of Al Quds Street, where the irrigation pumps are operated and the operations of opening and closing the system are controlled remotely through the station Istiklal.
It aims to achieve the sustainable development objectives of energy saving and water conservation, which are among the priorities of the strategy of the Municipality of the South Region and optimization of the use of natural resources and Energy.
This initiative aims to rationalize the consumption of resources and energy and to encourage the production and use of renewable energies and investments in them, as well as the optimal use of water and the preservation of natural resources. water.
It also aims to maintain the quality of the pumps and the precision of the regularity in the crop irrigation schedule thanks to the irrigation networks distributed in the sites, in particular those where electricity is difficult to access.
