EXCLUSIVE: Property Brothers star Jonathan Scott uses his voice in more ways than one to tackle solar energy issues in the United States.

The 42-year-old licensed entrepreneur is perhaps best known for “The Property Brothers”, in which he stars alongside his twin brother, Drew Scott. The HGTV show follows the siblings as they turn repairers into dream homes. He is also a Billboard recording artist and a longtime advocate for environmental responsibility and the advancement of clean and renewable energy.

Earlier this month, Jonathan premiered his very first PBS documentary titled “Jonathan Scott’s Power Trip”. The TV star travels the United States to explore the lack of renewable energy for all.

In addition to chatting with conservatives fighting for solar freedom, the documentary also features a song Jonathan co-wrote and sings called “Being Honest.”

He shared the song’s lyrics video exclusively with Fox News this week (see above). He also spoke about the language of the song, which includes the lyrics: “If I’m being honest / I’m angry and confused / You don’t want to see the problem / I’m tired of this excuse. “

“Because if we’re being honest / Something has to change / Enough, then wake up / We’re all played out,” he sings in the chorus.

Jonathan reflected on the meaning of the song, saying that “a lot of us” can relate to its post.

“We’re all trying to figure out how and why we got here. We’re tired of feeling helpless and just ready for some honesty,” Jonathan said previously. “People are frustrated and ready to do something.”

“I have invested three years of my life to help people understand where our energy comes from, why it is important and who is trying to take away your rights,” he explained.

From his conversations with people he interviewed on the subject, the HGTV star said he was surprised that many agreed with him.

“We should have the right to produce our own energy, to create more and better paying jobs, and to do so in a healthy and fair way for everyone, no matter where they live. Fossil fuel utilities have shown that they would do anything to keep us divided, but I believe in us, “he added.

His goal for the film is for Americans to “come together and work for a better energy future for all.”

Jonathan is also an executive producer at Scott Brothers Entertainment, an award-winning production company he founded with his twin brother. In 2017, Jonathan was named Habitat Humanitaire, the highest recognition offered by Habitat for Humanity.
