Neighborhood Sun and Astral Power community solar companies merge

Neighborhood sun, a community solar energy company that makes solar energy accessible to everyone through its advanced community solar energy software platform Sun Engine, today announced a merger with Astral power, a New York supplier of access to clean energy produced locally.

The combined company will operate as Neighborhood Sun with the Astral Power management team joining Neighborhood Sun under the leadership of Gary Skulnik, CEO. Astral Power investors, including the co-founder Wilson Chang, will join the board of directors.

“This merger aligns the synergies of the two organizations and accelerates the deployment of our advanced Sun Engine software platform into new markets,” said Skulnik. “Solar developers and asset owners will benefit from the combined capabilities of both organizations, including Neighborhood Sun’s powerful customer acquisition and management software platform and Astral Power’s high-quality sales management. “

By partnering with Astral Power, Neighborhood Sun is dramatically expanding its customer base, allowing greater access to energy to customers and communities across the United States.

“Our teams are aligned with the mission and our shared goal of bringing solar power to everyone,” said Astral Power President Thom Smith. “We are delighted to combine our ability to successfully acquire customers with the management capabilities of Neighborhood Sun and the robust Sun Engine platform. “
