New Product: SINVERT PV inverters from Siemens offer field-proven performance and reliability

Product Briefing Outline: Siemens AG has developed and manufactured inverters for photovoltaic applications since 1987. The latest products of this development are the SINVERT PV inverters, a family of three phase grid-connected inverters in the range of 60kVA up to 1700kVA. They already serve as central inverters in a large number of PV power plants. In Siemens’ SINVERT 1700 MS, four units of 420kVA act as a single 1.7MVA PV inverter. The combination of up to four single inverters working together maximizes performance, yield and availability.

Product Briefing Outline: DuPont Performance Elastomers (DPE) has introduced ‘Kalrez’ perfluoroelastomer parts specifically designed for the photovoltaic market for both wafer-based and thin film PV processes, Kalrez parts demonstrate broad chemical compatibility and excellent thermal stability. Kalrez parts are used to improve sealing reliability in critical PV wafer processing equipment that uses plasma, high heat and aggressive chemicals.

New York Wind Could Get Big Boost from Utility Merger

The New York State Public Service Commission (PSC) last week voted unanimously to authorize the acquisition of Energy East Corporation and its affiliates, New York State Electric & Gas Corporation (NYSEG) and Rochester Gas and Electric Corporation (RG&E), by Iberdrola S.A. This decision was the last hurdle to closing the deal, which was was announced in June 2007.
